We want more autonomous data from the ocean! The inaccessibility of tough environments prevents us from understanding and managing the whole marine environment in a sustainable way. Sensors mounted on crewed platforms (e.g. ships) are great, but are costly and can’t always get to where we need them; the best solution for us is often uncrewed platforms. These can be robots – or even animals such as seals!
